Meet Our Physicians
Our physicians are board-certified, fellowship-trained interventional radiologists delivering minimally invasive, patient-centered care. They combine advanced imaging expertise with a commitment to clear communication and personalized attention.
Dr. Mitchell Ermentrout, M.D.
Dr. Ermentrout is a double board‑certified Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist specializing in minimally invasive vascular and non‑vascular procedures. He has extensive expertise in ablative therapies and complex embolization techniques for primary and metastatic tumors, vascular thromboembolic disease, portal hypertension, and uterine fibroids.
He earned his Biology degree from Dartmouth College and his medical degree from Brown University, followed by a Diagnostic Radiology residency at UC Irvine, where he served as Chief Resident. He completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Emory University.
Dr. Ermentrout spent six years on faculty at Emory University as an Assistant Professor of Interventional Radiology, Clinical Site Director, and later Program Director of the nation’s largest IR residency and fellowship program. He has performed thousands of embolization procedures and has taught these techniques nationally and internationally, including through live‑recorded cases.
He is a nationally recognized expert in treatment of uterine fibroids having first learned Uterine Fibroid Embolization in residency under SIR Gold Medalist Dr. Scott Goodwin who pioneered the procedure in the United States. He later expanded his expertise working alongside renowned interventional radiologist Dr. John Lipman at the Atlanta Fibroid Center from 2021 – 2024.
His research includes ablative and embolization therapies for primary and metastatic liver disease, renal cell carcinoma, SVC syndrome, and post‑procedure toxicity, as well as multidisciplinary studies on outcomes after TIPS creation. He has authored multiple publications and abstracts and is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and the Outpatient Endovascular and Interventional Society.
Dr. Morgan J. Whitmore, M.D.
Dr. Morgan Whitmore is a board-certified Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist specializing in advanced image-guided, minimally invasive procedures. Known for his technical precision and patient-centered approach, he is committed to delivering high-quality care in a warm, accessible environment.
A native of Mid-Michigan, Dr. Whitmore graduated magna cum laude from Alma College in 2008 with a major in Exercise Health Science and minors in Chemistry and Biology. He earned his Medical Doctorate from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 2012 before completing both his Diagnostic Radiology residency (2017) and Interventional Radiology fellowship (2018) at Emory University School of Medicine. He then served on the Emory faculty as an Assistant Professor of Interventional Radiology, where he gained extensive teaching and procedural experience and first formed a professional partnership with Dr. Mitchell Ermentrout.
After several years in academic medicine, Dr. Whitmore transitioned to private practice with Piedmont South Imaging, eventually becoming a partner before co-founding Radiant Vascular Institute, P.C. with Dr. Ermentrout. He is a former Chief Interventional Radiology Fellow at Emory, a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, and has authored multiple publications and presented nationally and internationally.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Whitmore enjoys sports, concerts, travel, the outdoors, and involvement in his local church.

We are looking for an RN to help take care of patients in Pre-op and recovery in our outpatient IR lab. Patients are undergoing outpatient minimally invasive endovascular procedures under conscious sedation. If you have experience recovering sedated patients in IR, ER, OR, med-surg, ICU, endoscopy or ambulatory surgery this job is for you. Experience managing sedation would be ideal.
